Estate planning

If something happened to me tomorrow, would my family know what to do?

We review wills and trusts with the goal of preserving your estate for your intended heirs, help with beneficiary designations, and coordinate with your tax and legal advisors.

Make sure the plan holds up on the worst day your family will have.

When we started asking clients directly about their estate documents, we kept hearing the same answer. Many of them did not have a will. Not because they did not care, but because it never became the urgent thing. This is the gap we decided to close.

What we review

We review your wills and trusts with the goal of preserving your estate for your intended heirs. We help with beneficiary designations and work to minimize your exposure to estate taxes and probate costs.

  • Wills and trusts reviewed against what you actually intend today
  • Beneficiary designations and account ownership checked for conflicts
  • Exposure to estate taxes and probate costs identified
  • Gifting, charitable intent, and family communication brought into the plan

We coordinate rather than replace your attorney

We are happy to coordinate with your current tax and legal advisors to build a cohesive plan for your legacy. Neither Level Four Financial nor Level Four Advisory Services offers tax or legal advice, so the drafting stays with your attorney and the coordination stays with us.

The measure of the work

When a client dies, their children should be able to say they know how well their parents were taken care of. That is the standard we hold this part of the practice to.

Questions

About estate planning

Have a different question? Ask it directly and we will give you a straight answer.

No. We do not provide legal advice and we do not draft documents. We review what you have, identify what is missing or out of date, and coordinate with your attorney so the financial plan and the legal documents agree with each other.

Often not on its own. Beneficiary designations on retirement accounts and insurance pass outside the will, so a document written years ago can be quietly overridden by a form nobody has looked at since. That mismatch is one of the first things we check for.

That is common, and it is part of the work. We help you decide what to communicate, to whom, and when, so the plan is understood before it is needed.
